Vintefy
On-model photos from a phone photo, for marketplace sellers- AI model: yes (Clone mode)
- Clean background: yes (Studio mode)
- From €19/month for 60 photos
Vintefy is built for people selling secondhand clothes on Vinted, Depop, eBay and Poshmark. You upload one phone photo of the garment, flat on a bed, on a hanger or on a mannequin, and get back either the garment worn by an AI model (Clone mode) or the garment on a clean studio background (Studio mode) in about 30 seconds. It runs in the browser, so there is no app to install.
Plans are monthly: Starter €19 for 60 photos, Seller €49 for 260 and Pro €99 for 600, which works out at €0.17–€0.32 per photo. Credits renew monthly and you can cancel anytime. A free listing description generator (3 a day, 50 a day on any plan, 14 languages) and a free in-browser photo refresher sit alongside it.
- Best for
- Resellers who want an on-model cover photo from a casual phone photo, without learning an editor.
- Limits
- It does two things, on-model and studio photos, rather than offering a full editing suite. There is no free tier for photos, and per image it costs more than general tools with large credit allowances.
Photoroom
The all-round product photo editor- AI model: yes (AI Fashion Models)
- Pro $12.99/month or $89.99/year
- Web and mobile
Photoroom is a general product photo editor: background removal, AI backgrounds, retouching, batch editing and templates. Its AI Fashion Models tool puts a garment on a generated model. Photoroom’s own guidance is to start from a shot of someone wearing the item or a simple flat lay. You then pick a model, pose and background.
Pro costs $12.99 a month, or $89.99 a year ($7.50 a month), and includes 8,000 AI credits, 1,000 exports and up to 1,600 AI Fashion Model generations a month at 1K resolution. Max ($34.99 a month) adds 2K fashion models, video and Shopify integration.
- Best for
- Sellers who also list non-clothing items, want batch background removal, or need the most images for the money.
- Limits
- It is a broad tool, so there is more to learn. 2K fashion-model output needs the Max plan.
Pixelcut
Cheap background removal with a try-on tool- AI model: yes, tops only for now
- Free plan; Pro $10/month
- Web and mobile
Pixelcut is an AI photo editor best known for background removal and upscaling. Its Virtual Try-On tool places a clothing image onto one of its models or onto a model photo you upload. Its own FAQ says it currently supports tops, with trousers, dresses and accessories “coming soon”.
The free plan includes limited background removal and upscaling and exports without a watermark. Pro costs $10 a month ($8 billed yearly) with 600 AI credits and unlimited background removal. Business costs $30 a month ($24 yearly) with 3,600 credits.
- Best for
- Low-cost background removal for a large mixed inventory, and on-model shots of tops.
- Limits
- Try-on doesn’t cover dresses or trousers yet, according to Pixelcut’s FAQ.
Claid.ai
Credit-based AI photoshoots for e-commerce- AI model: yes (AI Fashion)
- Free trial: 50 credits
- Web and API
Claid.ai is an e-commerce image suite with AI Fashion (garment on a generated model), AI Photoshoot backgrounds, background removal, upscaling and an API. Everything is paid for in credits. An AI Fashion image costs 4 credits, so the free trial’s 50 credits cover 12 generations.
Paid plans are called Essentials, Pro and Business. Claid’s pricing page lists up to 125 AI Fashion generations a month on Essentials and 500 on Pro (2,000 credits). Prices are loaded on the page when you visit, so check the current figure there.
- Best for
- Sellers who run a web shop alongside marketplaces, or want an API.
- Limits
- Built for brands and shops, so the interface and credit system take some getting used to.
Botika
AI fashion models for brands- AI model: yes
- Pro $46/month billed yearly
- 1 credit per photo
Botika turns flat lays, ghost-mannequin shots or existing product photos into images on AI models, and can make short videos. It accepts smartphone photos. Plans include human retouching rounds: you can send back an image for corrections.
Pro costs $46 a month billed yearly ($55 without the annual discount) and includes 600 credits a year. One photo costs 1 credit and one video 5 credits, so that’s about 50 photos a month. Pro has a limited selection of models and backgrounds at 2K resolution.
- Best for
- Small brands and boutique resellers who want consistent, retouched model shots.
- Limits
- Annual billing and a yearly credit allowance make it expensive for a casual seller.
eBay’s built-in background tool
Free, inside the eBay app- AI model: no
- Free
- eBay app only
If you sell on eBay, the eBay app can remove a photo’s background while you list and replace it with white, a solid colour or an AI-generated scene. eBay describes it as a free tool for creating studio-quality listing photos.
It only works inside the eBay listing flow, and it doesn’t put clothes on a model.
- Best for
- eBay sellers who just want clean backgrounds at no cost.
- Limits
- eBay only, and no on-model photos.
Preloved AI
Listing text first, with virtual model photos- AI model: yes (virtual model)
- From £4.99/month
- iPhone and iPad
Preloved AI is an iOS app aimed at Vinted sellers. Its main job is writing the listing: you take up to three photos and it drafts a title, description and hashtags, then opens Vinted with the listing filled in. Its App Store listing also describes virtual model photos, including front and back views.
Its website lists a free tier and paid plans from £4.99 a month (Basic) to £29.99 a month (Elite). Its App Store listing describes slightly different listing allowances, so check in the app. Comparing it with Vintefy? See Preloved AI vs Vintefy.
- Best for
- iPhone users who want listing text written fast, with a model photo as an extra.
- Limits
- iOS only, and photos are a secondary feature.
How do you choose an AI photo app for reselling?
Four questions settle it:
- Do you need the garment on a model? On-model photos show fit, which matters most on Vinted and Depop. If clean backgrounds are enough, a background remover is cheaper.
- What do your input photos look like? Some tools suggest a plain, wrinkle-free flat lay; others are designed for quick phone photos. Test with one of your real photos.
- How many items a month? Work out the price per image at your real volume, not the headline price.
- Does the result stay true to the item? Check colour, print and details against the real garment before you list.

Are AI photos allowed on resale marketplaces?
Vinted has said AI use is fine as long as the item is represented accurately, and that misleading photos can lead to suspension. The same principle applies on every marketplace: buyers who receive something that doesn’t match the photo will return it. Use the AI image as the cover, then add real photos of the label, fabric and any flaws. Read more in AI photos on Vinted: what’s allowed.

AI photo apps for resellers: answered
What is the best AI photo app for selling clothes?
It depends on what you need. For on-model photos from a casual phone photo, aimed at Vinted, Depop and eBay sellers, Vintefy. For an all-round editor with background removal and AI fashion models, Photoroom. For cheap background removal, Pixelcut. For eBay only, eBay’s free built-in background tool.
Which AI apps can put my clothes on a model?
Vintefy (Clone mode), Photoroom (AI Fashion Models), Pixelcut (Virtual Try-On, tops only for now according to its FAQ), Claid.ai (AI Fashion), Botika and Preloved AI (virtual model photos). eBay’s built-in tool only changes backgrounds.
Is there a free AI photo tool for resellers?
eBay’s background tool is free inside the eBay app. Pixelcut has a free plan with limited background removal. Claid.ai has a 50-credit free trial. Vintefy’s photo refresher and description generator are free, but its AI model photos need a plan.
Are AI model photos allowed on Vinted?
Vinted has said AI use is fine as long as the item is represented accurately. Misleading photos, such as a garment that looks different from the real one, can lead to suspension. Keep colours and details true and add real photos of labels and any flaws.
How much do AI clothing photo tools cost?
From free (eBay’s tool, Pixelcut’s free plan) to about $10–$13 a month for general editors (Pixelcut Pro, Photoroom Pro), €19–€99 a month for Vintefy depending on volume, and $46 a month billed yearly for Botika Pro. Prices were checked on each tool’s pricing page in October 2026.
Do I need an AI tool if I already take good photos?
Not necessarily. Clean, well-lit photos with the whole garment visible already do most of the work. AI tools help when you lack space, light or a model, or when you list a lot and want consistent covers.
