The short answer
On Vinted the buyer pays for shipping at checkout and picks a carrier from the options you have enabled. After the sale, Vinted sends you a prepaid label (or QR code) for that carrier, and you have 5 business days to drop the parcel off. You must use that exact label: a different label or carrier cancels the order. If a parcel sent with the Vinted label is lost or damaged, you can be compensated up to the carrier’s limit.

Who pays for shipping on Vinted?
The buyer. Shipping is added to the order total at checkout, alongside the Vinted fee, and the price depends on the parcel size and on where the buyer and seller are. As a seller you pay nothing for the label and you receive your full item price. See Vinted fees explained for the whole checkout breakdown.
You control which carriers buyers can choose under Settings → Postage. You cannot switch off every option, some carriers are enabled by default, and a disabled option can still appear if it is the buyer’s only way to receive the parcel. If that happens and you cannot ship that way, you can cancel without negative feedback.
How to send a Vinted parcel, step by step
- 1
Choose a realistic parcel size when you list
Vinted suggests one from the category and item details. Measure the packed item and check it fits your carriers’ limits.
- 2
The buyer picks a carrier and pays
At checkout the buyer chooses from the shipping options you have enabled and pays the label with the order.
- 3
Get the prepaid label
Vinted sends the label or a QR code to your Vinted inbox and by email. The instructions say whether to print it and where to drop off.
- 4
Pack, photograph and drop off within 5 business days
Photograph the item and the packed parcel with its label, then drop it off with the carrier the buyer chose. Keep the receipt.
- 5
Track until delivered
Both of you can follow tracking in the conversation. Once delivered, the buyer has 2 days to confirm or report a problem.
Vinted carriers by country
Available carriers depend on where you are. These are the integrated options listed on each country’s Help Centre.
| Country | Integrated carriers |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan, DHL Express |
| France | Mondial Relay, Chronopost, Colissimo, Vinted Go, DHL Express |
| Germany | DPD, GLS, DHL Paket / DHL Päckchen, Hermes, DHL Express |
| United States | USPS, FedEx, SpeedX |
Some carriers cannot take larger parcels or deliver to every postcode, and Vinted may add, remove or disable options. The label instructions tell you where to drop off: depending on the carrier that is a parcel shop, a post office, a locker or a relay point. Vinted’s help pages describe drop-off; whether a carrier can collect from your home depends on the carrier and is not something we could confirm from Vinted’s pages.
Vinted also runs its own delivery network, Vinted Go, which offers pick-up and drop-off points in several European countries, including France.
Vinted parcel sizes and weight limits
When you list, Vinted suggests a parcel size from the category, item size, brand and other details. Check it: measure the item folded or packed, then measure the box on a flat surface. If the packed item is too big or heavy for every option, you cannot list it. These are the UK limits Vinted publishes:
| UK option | Max dimensions | Standard items (e.g. clothes, shoes, bags) | Heavy items |
|---|---|---|---|
| InPost Locker / Shop Pick-up | 64 × 38 × 41 cm | Up to 2 kg | — |
| InPost Home Delivery | 64 × 38 × 41 cm | Up to 2 kg | — |
| Evri | L + 2×W + 2×H ≤ 245 cm | Up to 2 kg | Up to 15 kg |
| Royal Mail 2nd Class Medium Parcel | 61 × 46 × 46 cm | Up to 2 kg | Up to 20 kg |
Pick the wrong size and some carriers let you upgrade at the drop-off point at no extra cost, but do not count on it: in the UK, if you chose the wrong size yourself, Vinted usually cannot compensate extra Royal Mail charges. Limits differ by country and carrier, so check your local Help Centre.
Shipping deadlines: what happens if you are late
You have 5 business days from the sale to send the parcel. If Vinted sees no tracking update or shipping confirmation by then, the order is cancelled the next business day and the buyer is refunded.
- Need more time? Use “Extend shipping deadline” in the conversation to ask the buyer for 3 or 5 more business days. They can accept or decline.
- Can’t ship at all? You can cancel the order yourself or let it cancel automatically.
- Delivery estimates: usually 2–5 business days within a country, 4–8 internationally, and up to 10 business days with verification services. Weekends and major holidays are excluded.
Shipping quickly also gets you paid sooner, because the payout clock only starts after delivery. Here is how Vinted payouts work.
International shipping on Vinted
Vinted connects specific countries rather than shipping everywhere. You cannot turn international shipping off entirely; if your country is connected, buyers there can buy from you.
| Seller country | Connected with |
|---|---|
| France | Spain, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Germany |
| Germany | France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria |
| United Kingdom | United States and Australia (items up to 2 kg) |
| United States | United Kingdom |
The UK routes come with extra rules: items must weigh 2 kg or less, US-to-UK orders must be under £120 and UK-to-Australia orders under A$920 (excluding fees, shipping and taxes), and categories such as children’s products and toys, cosmetics, jewellery and watches, and electronics are excluded. Customs is handled for you; buyers in the UK may see import VAT at checkout.
What to do if a Vinted parcel is lost or damaged
Vinted can compensate sellers when the parcel was sent with the Vinted-generated label, was packed properly, and the carrier confirms it was lost or damaged.
| Market | Maximum compensation |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Up to £500 (Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan) |
| United States | USPS up to $100 · FedEx up to $100 · SpeedX up to $15 |
Keep proof until the order completes
The label, the drop-off receipt and photos of the packed parcel. Vinted asks sellers to keep proof of shipping until the order is complete.
Wait for the investigation
The carrier has to confirm the loss or damage first, and investigations can take several weeks.
Pack properly
Damaged parcels are only compensated if they were packed properly. Use a box or mailer close to the item’s size and add cushioning where needed.
Outside the system, you’re on your own
Parcels sent without the Vinted label or with custom shipping are not compensated by Vinted; you claim with the carrier directly.
If you accept compensation for a lost parcel, ownership of the parcel and any claim against the carrier passes to Vinted Go UAB.
Custom shipping on Vinted
Custom shipping let sellers post with their own carrier and price. Vinted’s US Help Centre now describes it as a legacy option that is no longer available for new listings, discontinued in favour of integrated shipping. Where older listings still use it, Vinted cannot track the parcel and does not compensate losses, so send the buyer your tracking number yourself.

Vinted shipping: answered
Who pays for shipping on Vinted?
The buyer. Shipping is added to the buyer’s total at checkout, and the price depends on parcel size and where the buyer and seller are. The seller receives a prepaid, Vinted-generated label after the sale.
How long do I have to ship on Vinted?
5 business days from the sale. If Vinted receives no tracking update or shipping confirmation in that time, the order is cancelled and the buyer refunded. You can ask the buyer to extend the deadline by 3 or 5 business days; they can accept or decline.
Can I use my own label or a different carrier?
No. You must use the prepaid Vinted label for the carrier the buyer chose. Using a different label or shipping option cancels the order automatically, and the shipping option cannot be changed once the label is bought.
Which carriers does Vinted use?
It depends on the country. UK: Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan and DHL Express. France: Mondial Relay, Chronopost, Colissimo, Vinted Go and DHL Express. Germany: DPD, GLS, DHL Paket/Päckchen, Hermes and DHL Express. US: USPS, FedEx and SpeedX.
What happens if a Vinted parcel is lost or damaged?
If you used the Vinted-generated label, packed it properly and the carrier confirms the loss or damage, you can be compensated up to the carrier’s limit: up to £500 in the UK, and $100 for USPS or FedEx and $15 for SpeedX in the US. Investigations can take several weeks. Parcels sent another way are not compensated by Vinted.
Can I ship internationally on Vinted?
Only on connected routes. For example, France is connected with nine EU countries, Germany with France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, and the UK with the US and Australia (items up to 2 kg). You cannot switch off international shipping entirely.
What size parcel should I choose on Vinted?
Vinted suggests a size based on the item’s category and details. Measure the packed parcel and check it against your carrier’s limits before a buyer pays, because the size cannot be changed after the sale. In the UK, standard items such as clothing ship up to 2 kg.
Does Vinted still offer custom shipping?
On vinted.com, Vinted describes custom shipping as a legacy option that is no longer available for new listings. Parcels sent with custom shipping cannot be tracked by Vinted and are not compensated if lost or damaged.
